How to Vote in Ward 7

1. Make sure you're on the voters' list

The quickest way to save time is to confirm you're registered before voting day. Check and update your details — or add yourself if you've recently moved to Oakville or just turned 18 — Check, update, add or remove your information from the voters list.

New homes across northern Ward 7 and Glenorchy mean many residents are missing from the list. It only takes a minute to check, and it means no delays when you go to vote.

2. Know where and when to vote

On voting day (Monday, October 26), you can vote at any of the voting locations in the ward where you live, between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Advance voting runs October 7–10 and October 13–18 at select locations. Advance voting is a convenient option if you can't make it on election day.

Specific voting locations are set by the Town. Find the confirmed list and your assigned locations at the Town's official election site: oakville.ca/town-hall/elections.

3. Bring acceptable ID

You'll need to show identification that includes your name and Oakville address. Commonly accepted documents include a driver's licence, an Ontario photo card, a utility bill, a bank or credit card statement, a lease or rental agreement, or other government-issued documents showing your name and qualifying address.

4. Who can vote?

You can vote in the Town of Oakville municipal election if, on voting day, you are a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, and a resident of Oakville (or an owner or tenant of property in Oakville, or the spouse of such an owner or tenant), and not otherwise prohibited from voting.
